NHPTV to Broadcast and Stream UNH Commencement May 19

(DURHAM, May 15, 2007) - New Hampshire Public Television will broadcast live the University of New Hampshire's 137th Commencement on Saturday, May 19, 2007, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony also will be streamed live on www.nhptv.org and www.unh.edu . Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton are the featured speakers. University officials expect an increase in attendance and they predict heavy traffic in the Durham area between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The general public will not have access to Cowell Stadium and the Whittemore Center (simulcast location) until 8:45 a.m. Those attending the ceremony are encouraged to tune in to radio stations WTSN 1270 AM or WBYY 98.7 FM for traffic and parking updates. A bracelet system is in place to allow family and friends of the graduates priority access to the ceremony. Guests without a bracelet are encouraged to congregate at the Wildcat sculpture on Main Street in front of the Whittemore Center for coffee until 8:45 a.m.
