Nashua Angler Joe Catalano, Shoreline Striper Fishing, and More Featured on WILDLIFE JOURNAL

(DURHAM, November 20, 2007) - After Thanksgiving dinner this year, relax by watching a brand-new episode of the award-winning Wildlife Journal television series. The new show airs Thursday, November 22 @ 7:30 p.m., on New Hampshire Public Television. The popular series, co-produced by NHPTV and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, showcases the Granite State's natural resources and outdoor traditions. In Thursday's episode, "Gone Fishing," tune in for a fishing story at Joe Catalano's neighborhood shop in Nashua. Joe is an angler for whom fishing is life. Transforming his part-time hobby into a full-time vocation has allowed him to share his knowledge and passion with anglers of all ages. Later in the show, on Wild Ways, host Lisa Densmore joins Chris Henson from Kittery Trading Post to demonstrate how exciting angling for stripers can be - right from shore. Then, discover what scientists are doing to turn the tide for New Hampshire's endangered hog-nosed snake, brook floater mussel and rare venomous northern timber rattlesnake. In the Wild Places segment of the show, host Willem Lange explores Heath Bog Pond. This National Natural Landmark on Ossipee Lake is a fragile environment full of unusual habitats that support plants and wildlife you may not see anywhere else.
