NHPTV Named 2007 Station of the Year By New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters

(DURHAM, October 22, 2007) - New Hampshire Public Television was named 2007 Station of the Year during the recent New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters (NHAB) annual Golden Mike Awards ceremony in Concord. Also, NH Outlook programs received a first place and a merit award, and the NHPTV website (www.nhptv.org) garnered a merit award. NHPTV's public affairs program, NH Outlook, received a First Place in the Public Affairs / Talk Show category for its program, The Future of the NH GOP, which featured a discussion among Wayne Semprini, former New Hampshire GOP party chair; Donna Sytek, a long-time Republican party member and former N.H. Speaker of the House; and Andy Smith from the UNH Survey Center. NH Outlook received a merit award in the Documentary News category for its LiveFIT NH School Food report about what New Hampshire schools are doing to combat the rising obesity rate in children. The program is part of a series for the "LiveFIT NH" community engagement initiative to encourage healthy eating and physical activity in children and adults. More at www.nhptv.org/livefitnh.
