Young Writers and Illustrators Invited to Create a Storybook for NHPTV's Reading Rainbow Contest

(DURHAM, March 4, 2008) — Get out your markers, grab your crayons, and sharpen your pencils! Kindergarteners through fifth graders are invited to create and illustrate original storybooks and enter them in the 14th Annual Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest, sponsored by New Hampshire Public Television (NHPTV). Entries are due to NHPTV by Monday, March 24, 2008.Children who enter the contest receive a Certificate of Achievement. Local first place winners in grades K-3 advance to the national competition. An awards ceremony will be held in June at the NHPTV Broadcasting Center in Durham to recognize the first-, second- and third-place winners at each grade level. These winning stories will be presented on NHPTV’s website.Contest rules and entry forms, as well as previous winning entries, are available at www.nhptv.org/kidswrite.
