NHPTV and WMUR-TV Hosting Digital Transition Information Session in Littleton

Wed., Feb. 11th at Littleton High School

WHAT: WMUR-TV and New Hampshire Public Television will host a free information session on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 6:30 PM at the Littleton High School cafeteria to discuss the change in the way television viewers will receive over-the-air (broadcast) TV signals in the coming months. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn how the federally mandated transition from analog to digital broadcast transmissions may affect them. While viewers who subscribe to a cable or satellite TV service are ready for DTV, viewers who receive TV signals through an antenna or “rabbit ears” (and do not subscribe to cable or satellite TV services) have three options for watching digital TV:1) Purchase a converter box for each television in your home that receives TV signals through an antenna ($40 coupons from the federal government are available to offset the cost), OR2) Purchase a new television set with a built-in digital tuner, OR3) Subscribe to a cable or satellite service that carries the channels you want to watch.
