Manchester Central High School Advances to Semifinals of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, March 26, 2010) – Manchester Central High School triumphed on Wednesday's Granite State Challenge, defeating Coe-Brown Northwood Academy by a score of 320 to 145. The win secured Manchester Central High School the third spot in the semifinals. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online.The conquering Manchester Little Green included seniors Ben Stergiou, Nihco Gallo, David Neider, and Andrew Lavoie and alternates Nick Ambrogi and Olivia Papp. They were coached by Sean Russell and Mike Hennessy. Their opponents, the Coe–Brown Northwood Bears, included seniors Michelle Fioccoprile and Justin Loy, juniors Nick Sylvester and Anthony Craven and alternates Jacanna Sourisak and Mark Davis. They were coached by Lorraine Drake.Manchester Central High School faces the winner of the Londonderry High School vs. Oyster River High School match on April 14th at 6 p.m.TUNE IN WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31 @ 6 p.m. LONDONDERRY HIGH SCHOOL vs. OYSTER RIVER HIGH SCHOOLTune in each Wednesday night @ 6 p.m. and follow your favorite teams' progress. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April.
