NHPTV Channel 26 Experiencing Technical Difficulties

(DURHAM – March 4, 2010) – New Hampshire Public Television’s Colebrook transmitter (Channel 26) is intermittently losing its microwave feed due to a problem on Mount Washington. The problem appears to be related to water freezing and thawing in the transmission line system because the outages seem to correspond with days when the sun comes out. NHPTV engineers are attempting to identify and resolve the problem but are hampered by winter conditions on top of the mountain. We apologize to the community for this interruption in service. NHPTV is committed to resolving the problem as quickly as possible. NHPTV is one of several state partners submitting a multi-million dollar broadband stimulus grant application. If the state receives this grant, it will make the North Country’s and state’s public safety communications, broadband infrastructure and NHPTV transmissions significantly more extensive, robust and reliable.To contact NHPTV: themailbox@nhptv.org or call NHPTV Viewer Services at (603) 868-1100.
