Winnacunnet Advances to Quarterfinals of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, January 14, 2010) – Winnacunnet Regional High School triumphed on Wednesday's Granite State Challenge, defeating Newmarket High School by a score of 265 to 170. Winnacunnet secured their place in the Quarterfinals with their win, marking the first of this season's second round. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online.The conquering Winnacunnet Regional Warriors included seniors Ben Howard, Chris Cain, and Elizabeth Cushing, junior Calvin Lord, and alternates Sara Moe, Tom Schoenberger, and Patrick Kamieneski. They were coached by Kevin Fleming and Andrew Gushee. Their opponents, the Newmarket Mules, included seniors Robert Mantegani and Rhianna James and juniors Jay Lancaster and Tyle Foster and alternates Trevor Kiefaber, Rob Bennett and William Jensen.
