Manchester Central High School Defeats Pinkerton Academy in First Round of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, November 19, 2009) –Manchester Central High School rose to the challenge on Wednesday's Granite State Challenge, defeating Pinkerton Academy by a score of 320 to 160, and advancing to round two. Granite State Challenge airs Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. The conquering Manchester Little Green included seniors Ben Stergiou, Nihco Gallo, David Neider, Nick Ambrogi, Andrew Lavoie and junior Olivia Papp. They were coached by Sean Russell and Mike Hennessy. Their opponents, the Pinkerton Astros, included seniors Morgan Sutherland, Lucas Newell, Samuel Rind and sophomore Tannishtha Pramanick. Alternates were Martha Beard, Joon-Ho Lee and Nicholas Kukshtel. They were coached by Anthony Penta and Peter Crowell.
