New Hampshire Public Television Premieres

(DURHAM, September 14, 2006) - At age 89, she walked 3,200 miles from California to Washington D.C., to dramatize the need to reduce the role of special interest money in politics. Well past the time when most people opt for quiet retirement, Doris Haddock trekked for 14 months, igniting public attention to the issue of campaign finance reform.Affectionately dubbed Granny D, this New Hampshire great-grandmother and activist is the fascinating subject of an inspiring new documentary, Granny D Goes to Washington, produced by Alidra Solday. New Hampshire Public Television will host a special screening of the documentary, followed by a question and answer session with Granny D and Solday at Saint Anselm College Dana Center, Tuesday, October 3rd @ 6:30 p.m.Granny D Goes to Washington will have its broadcast premiere on NHPTV Friday, October 6th @ 8 p.m. A special interview with Granny D will air on NHPTV's award-winning NH Outlook program Friday, October 6th @ 7:30 p.m., immediately preceding the documentary's debut.
