Curious George, Super WHY! and Arthur to Appear at Story Land Saturday, June 6th

PBS Characters Will Also Visit Children in Concord, Dunbarton and Winchester

(DURHAM, June 1, 2009) –Curious George, Arthur and Super WHY! will appear at NHPTV Family Day at Story Land in Glen, NH, Saturday, June 6th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission rates apply; part of the admission proceeds support New Hampshire Public Television’s educational programs and services. Children two and under are admitted free. They’ll be having fun with children at NHPTV Ready To Learn literacy and LiveFIT NH events in the following locations:CURIOUS GEORGE - Winchester School, Winchester - Tuesday, June 2nd from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The curious little monkey will attend a literacy assembly and do a hands-on activity with kids from the ACCESS after-school program.ARTHUR - Grapevine Childcare, Dunbarton - Friday, June 5th from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Arthur the Aardvark will teach children about healthy eating choices and incorporating good nutrition ideas with cooking activities. SUPER WHY! - Dame Elementary School, Concord - Friday, June 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. At Even Start’s end-of-the-year celebration, Super WHY! will participate with children in literacy activities, and books will be distributed. Curious George and The Man with the Yellow Hat embark on (mis)-adventures weekdays @ 7:30 a.m. and again @ 5 p.m. on NHPTV. This season, America’s favorite monkey inspires children to explore the world around them and learn about recycling, solar power and composting along the way.Super WHY! This super-charged, literacy-powered animated series makes reading an empowering adventure by using interactive literacy games, providing kids with the skills that they need to learn to read. Super WHY! airs on NHPTV Monday-Friday @ 8:30 a.m. and Sundays @ 7:30 a.m.Arthur, “The World’s Most Famous Aardvark,” airs weekdays @ 6 a.m. and again @ 3:30 p.m. on NHPTV.
