(DURHAM, January 19, 2007) — Is it possible to eat healthy while you’re on the run? Fast food is notorious for being high in calories and saturated fat. If you often eat meals from a drive-thru restaurant, watch the next "LiveFIT NH" NH Outlook special Tuesday, January 23rd @ 7:30 p.m. and learn how to place the right order.Which is the better option – a grilled chicken sandwich with a slice of tomato and mayo, or a cheeseburger? For breakfast, is an egg sandwich better than a bagel with cream cheese? NH Outlook spends the day with dietician Eileen Behan sampling breakfast, lunch and dinner items from local fast food restaurants to show how to make healthier choices when dining at the drive-thru. Fast food restaurants are responding to consumers’ concerns about expanding waistlines by changing their menu options. "Knowing what you eat while on the run shouldn’t be a guessing game," notes Dr. Joanne Burke of the Animal and Nutritional Sciences program at the University of New Hampshire. "If you’re looking for healthy fast foods, there are certainly more options for you."NH Outlook, NHPTV’s award-winning public affairs program, is all about New Hampshire.
