(DURHAM, February 8, 2007) — New Hampshire Public Television will videotape and webstream the five public forums on state education funding held by the New Hampshire House and Senate Joint Task Force on Adequacy. The first forum is slated for Monday, February 12 in Nashua. The forums are part of the task force’s mandate to gather public comments, summarize findings and make recommendations to the House and Senate education committees on the definition of an adequate education. The webstreamed video will be available at www.nhptv.org/outlook. The requirement for the N.H. Legislature to define what constitutes an adequate education by July 1, 2007 stems from a State Supreme Court ruling declaring the existing definition unconstitutional.The public forums will start with a brief presentation on the state of the law and the various proposals under consideration by the legislature to define adequacy.
