Childhood Type 2 Diabetes Focus of NH Outlook

(DURHAM, March 21, 2007) — The incidence of childhood Type 2 diabetes is on the rise nationally, and here in New Hampshire. Obesity and lifestyle choices are often the cause of this chronic disease, but enacting healthy changes can make a difference. Find out if your child is at risk for this childhood disease on the “LiveFIT NH” NH Outlook special airing Sunday, March 25th @ 9 a.m. and Tuesday, March 27th @ 7:30 p.m.Dr. Kyle Landt, an endocrinologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, talks about the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the disease. Also, meet a student and her mother who are both learning to manage life with Type 2 diabetes.NH Outlook, NHPTV’s award-winning public affairs program, is all about New Hampshire. It’s dedicated to statewide coverage of the people, places, politics and culture that make the Granite State special.
