The New Hampshire Supreme Court will participate in a one-hour, live, interactive videoconference from the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord with high school students at locations around the state. The videoconference, moderated by Richard Ager of New Hampshire Public Television, will offer students a rare opportunity to talk with the justices about their role on the court. The videoconference will also feature segments of “A Day in the Life of the New Hampshire Supreme Court” produced for “NH Outlook,” NHPTV’s public affairs program. WHERE: NH Technical Institute Library Videoconference Center, Room 135. Directions: Take Exit 1 off I-393, follow signs to NHTI. Library is in the building with a clock tower in the center of the campus. Parking is available in the large parking lot adjacent to the library. PARTICIPANTS/LOCATIONS: Members of the media are welcome to attend the videoconference at any of the sites listed below:New Hampshire Technical Institute (Concord Senior High School - 7 students participating) NHPTV Broadcast Center, Durham (St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Dover; Portsmouth Christian Academy, Portsmouth - 17 students participating) Colebrook School District, Colebrook (30 students participating) Londonderry Senior High School, Londonderry (15 students participating) Merrimack Valley High School, Penacook (78 students participating) Timberlane Regional High School, Plaistow (15 students participating) BACKGROUND: The videoconference provides an opportunity for students around the state to learn more about the role of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the Justices. Each participating school will receive instructional materials. Additionally, local attorneys have volunteered to meet with participating students to talk about the state’s court system and the work of the Supreme Court. This videoconference is a joint project of the New Hampshire Supreme Court, the New Hampshire Technical Institute - Concord, the Granite State Distance Learning Network, the New Hampshire Bar Association and New Hampshire Public Television.
