The Derryfield School Defeats Newfound

(DURHAM, April 17, 2007) — The Derryfield School defeated Newfound Regional High School Thursday, April 12th in an intense Round Three match-up of Granite State Challenge. The Derryfield team edged out Newfound with a final score of 220 to 195. New Hampshire Public Television's Granite State Challenge airs Thursdays @ 7:30 p.m., and again on Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. The victorious Derryfield Cougars included seniors Doug Lindner and Kyle DeNoble, junior Allison Fink and sophomore Fritz Manson. They were coached by Dennis Holland. The Newfound Bears included seniors Lucy Randall-Tapply, Paul FitzMorris and Josh Hobart, and junior Molly FitzMorris. They were coached by Stephanie Wiencek and Nancy Mills.The Derryfield School will face Hollis/Brookline High School in the semifinals on Thursday, May 3 @ 7:30 p.m.
