 AMERICAN REVOLUTION HISTORY ON THIS DATE

1731 - Thomas Willing was born on this date in 1731.  Willing was a merchant, politician, and slave trader. He was the mayor of Philadelphia, a delegate to the Continental Congress, and the first president of the Bank of North America and the First Bank of the United States. 

1776 -Thomas Paine publishes one of a series of pamphlets in The Pennsylvania Journal entitled "The American Crisis."

1777 - George Washington's Continental Army goes into winter quarters at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
