(DURHAM, April 24, 2008) - John Stark Regional High School overpowered Mascoma Valley Regional High School early in the match and went on to win by a score of 275 to 150, advancing them to the semifinals of New Hampshire Public Television's Granite State Challenge. The series airs Wednesdays @ 7:30 p.m., and re-airs Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. on NHPTV. The triumphant John Stark Generals included seniors Mariah Brennan Clegg, Jon Richardson, Joseph Plunkett, Ben Mueser, and alternates Richard Berthiaume and Emily Petersen. Their coaches were Jill Pinard and Dan Marcus. The Mascoma Valley Royals were comprised of Aaron Fetto, Ashleigh King, Andrew Cushing, Amy Stark, and alternates Erica Smith and William Arnold. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in May.
