(DURHAM, April 10, 2008) - Two-time SuperChallenge finalist Winnacunnet Regional High School defeated Bishop Brady High School by a score of 280 to 210, advancing them to the semifinals of New Hampshire Public Television's Granite State Challenge. The series airs Wednesdays @ 7:30 p.m., and re-airs Saturdays @ 8:30 a.m. on NHPTV. The victorious Winnacunnet Warriors were comprised of seniors Jessica Noone and Gabbie Burns, juniors Casey Bradshaw and Craig Hartenstein, alternates Pat Sullivan and Laurel Weatherby, and coaches Kevin Fleming and Andy Gushee. The Bishop Brady Giants consisted of seniors Jenn Parsons, Tara Fitzgerald, Johnny Bassett, and Janet Moffatt, and alternates Noah Mellen and Thomas Hayes. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in May.
