NHPTV to Present Free Preview Screening of THE WAR

-Filmmaker Ken Burns Will Hold Question and Answer Session Following Presentation of World War II Documentary at the Capitol Center for the Arts-(DURHAM, June 13, 2007) - Award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns will join New Hampshire Public Television in presenting a preview screening of his new documentary THE WAR on Thursday, June 28th at 7 p.m at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord, NH. The event is open to the public and free of charge. Tickets are available on the day of the screening at the Capitol Center for the Arts on a first-come, first-served basis.The preview screening of THE WAR will be followed by a question and answer session with Ken Burns, moderated by NH Outlook host Beth Carroll.THE WAR tells the story of the Second World War through the personal accounts of individuals from four quintessentially American towns, from the homefront to the frontlines. Examining the myriad ways WWII touched the lives of all Americans, the film honors the bravery, endurance and sacrifice of the generation who lived through what will always be known simply as The War. The 7-part documentary series is directed and produced by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. A co-production of Florentine Films and WETA Washington, DC, THE WAR premieres Sunday, September 23rd on NHPTV and PBS.
