May is Asian American Pacific Islander Month and is a time to celebrate and honor the history and contributions of the Asian American community. Yet at this time, there have been increased attacks and racism directed at Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, with 3,800 incidents of racial violence reported since the start of the pandemic in 2020 (Stop AAPI Hate).
To address this, the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) and WETA have created an engagement guide to help communities address these issues, utilizing resources from the series Asian Americans. The film is currently available for streaming on PBS.org/AsianAmericans and is airing on NHPBS. For more educational information: https://nhpbs.pbslearningmedia.org/collection/asian-americans-pbs/
