Merrimack High Tomahawks Meet Portsmouth High Clippers

Granite State Challenge - Round One

Tune in to Granite State Challenge Saturday, March 23 at 6:00 pm on NHPBS as the Merrimack High Tomahawks meet the Portsmouth High Clippers in the final Round One game of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE.

Playing for Merrimack High are junior Alex Jobin, senior Sophie Kim, junior Troy Church, captain junior Scott Peyton  and alternates Andrew Peyton and Nick Gacharna . The team is coached by Sara Campbell.

The Portsmouth High Clippers are represented by captain senior Samantha Kelley-Derzon, senior Ezra Schrader, freshman Francis Powell, and senior Jacob Allen. The alternates are senior Melanie Carolan and senior Lucy Heisey. The team is coached by Hannah Dul.

The winner of this final Round One game will face Nashua High South in the Quarterfinals. The first quarterfinal game between Hanover and Littleton airs Saturday, March 30 @ 6 pm on NHPBS.

Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts—along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports and New Hampshire.
