In conjunction with partners across Northern New England, New Hampshire Public Television will present a slate of nine candidate economic forums and debates beginning Tuesday, October 8. As part of NHPTV’s continuing NH Votes 2002 election coverage, the forums and debates feature candidates for New Hampshire’s open U.S. Senate seat, the state’s two congressional races, and the governor’s office.NHPTV is partnering with New England Cable News (NECN), WMUR-TV, and WNDS-TV to televise the forums and debates. NHPTV also is teaming with the Union Leader, the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business, the Business and Industry Association of New Hampshire (BIA), and Leadership New Hampshire to convene the candidates. “Working with these partners enables us to provide extensive coverage to voters about the candidates’ positions on issues that affect our state and nation,” notes Dawn DeAngelis, executive producer of NHPTV’s NH Votes 2002 programming. In addition to the forums and debates, NHPTV is providing in-depth campaign coverage through the November election on its nightly 10 p.m. newsmagazine, NH Outlook.
