Portsmouth and Merrimack Meet in Quarterfinal Match

GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE

Tune in to NHPBS Saturday, April 7 at 6 pm as Portsmouth High School takes on Merrimack High School in the second quaterfinal match on GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE.

Playing for the Portsmouth Clippers are captain Chithra Singareddy, Ethan Fuller, Andrew Rodgers, and Tighe Clough, as well as alternate Stuart Johnson. They are coached by Hannah Dul and Brendan Harrington. The Merrimack Tomahawks are represented by captain Scott Peyton, Alex Jobin, Nick Marcus, and Sophie Kim, with alternates Eric Hilton and Troy Church. They are coached by Sara Campbell.

The winner of this match will face Salem High School in the first semifinal match. Things could get interesting, the coach of Salem High School is Bernie Campbell, husband of Merrimack's coach, Sara Campbell.

Hosted by Jim Jeannotte, Granite State Challenge features New Hampshire's top high school academic quiz teams as they demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts to beat the clock and buzz in first on this iconic New Hampshire game show. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts, and fine arts facts—along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New Hampshire.
