NEW HAMPSHIRE PUBLIC TELEVISION CELEBRATES COLEBROOK, PETERBOROUGH, STRATHAM AND WOLFEBORO ON MONDAY

Celebrating the towns of Colebrook, Peterborough, Stratham and Wolfeboro

(DURHAM, June7, 2017) — "I believe that every town in the Granite State has great stories to share. And to collect these stories is to preserve our New Hampshire culture," say New Hampshire author and OUR HOMETOWN host, Rebecca Rule. From a town that springs up on the ice, to a world class Irish step dancer, to a bike mechanic who decides to take a chance on a town, to a hair raising tale of escaping a fire - New Hampshire Public Television's special episode OUR HOMETOWN CELEBRATION features stories from the towns of Colebrook, Peterborough, Stratham and Wolfeboro.

"This program is a little pocket of history. There are 221 towns and 13 cities in this great state. And we better get going! Right now we've done four programs," chuckles Rule. "Folks came out in droves to tell us dramatic, nostalgic and inspirational stories each one told so simply, yet captivating." The OUR HOMETOWN project is a community-wide effort that engages residents and businesses in telling their stories, which are then recorded and edited into a 30-minute television program for New Hampshire's PBS station. OUR HOMETOWN: CELEBRATION premieres Monday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. on NHPTV PRIME with multiple airdates on PRIME and EXPLORE and online at video.nhptv.org

The OUR HOMETOWN series premiered in 2015 with a focus on Peterborough, followed by shows about Colebrook, Stratham and Wolfeboro. The series is hosted by New Hampshire author and storyteller, Rebecca Rule.
