MASSACHUSETTS TEAM WINS NH - MA GOVERNOR'S CUP

(DURHAM, May 21, 2016) - Coming off its GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE victory last week, New Hampshire's Nashua High School South lost to Massachusett's Lexington High School by a score of 635 to 450 in annual NH-MA GOVERNOR'S CUP challenge.This match marked the fourth annual GOVERNOR'S CUP, which pits the GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE champions against the winners of WGBH's High School Quiz Show. Alternating locations each year, this game was played at the New Hampshire Public Television Broadcast Center under GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE rules. The Lexington Minutemen team was represented by captain Colin Cantwell, Devin Shang, Krishna Surah and Duncan McCallum, and coached by Bill Cole. The Nashua Panthers team was represented by captain Dody Eid, Noah Telerski, Sam McIntyrel and Nicha Devasia, and coached by Neil Claffey, Catherine Poulin and Greg Montine. New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts fact-along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England.All games are available to watch online at video.nhptv.org.
