NASHUA HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH WINS GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE

(DURHAM, May 14, 2016) - In the season finale of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE, Nashua High School South beat Merrimack High School by a score of 480 to 270. Nashua began the year strong and finished its season with a hard-won victory and the title of 2016 SUPERCHALLENGE champions.

As the SUPERCHALLENGE winner, Nashua South will take on Lexington High School (MA) in the annual Granite State/Bay State GOVERNOR'S CUP match between the winners of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show. "We had an awesome year with this group. This is the first year that our team has made it this far," said Nashua coach Catherine Poulin. "We're excited to compete next week." The team from Merrimack dominated their season, too, with impressive wins over several teams. "It was a great year for the kids," said Merrimack coach Sara Campbell.

The Nashua Panther team was represented by captain Dody Eid, Noah Telerski, Sam McIntyrel and Nicha Devasia, and coached by Neil Claffey, Catherine Poulin and Greg Montine. The Merrimack Tomahawk team was represented by captain Jack Landry, Bailey Joseph, Pooja Agrawal and Zev Sernik, and coached by Sara Campbell. Watch this and all the matches online >>
