(DURHAM, February 27, 2016) - In this week's GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE match, Salem High School beat Bow High School with a score of 510 to 310. Bow fell behind in the first round but made an impressive climb in the second and third round. It wasn't enough, however, to stop Salem, who ultimately came out with a 200 point lead.The Bow Falcons were represented by captain Joseph Lulka, Sadie Warburton, Sam Neff, and Conner Lorenz, and were coached by Michelle Hlavaz. The Salem Blue Devils were represented by captain Steven Beninati, Anthony Consentino, Aidan Gallo, and Jonathan Tarness, and were coached by Jeffrey Dennis, Scott Kukshtel, and Bernie Campbell.

Hosted by Jim Jeannotte, the popular quiz contest began the season with 16 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SUPERCHALLENGE title. Also, for a fourth year, there will be a Granite State vs. Bay State Governor's Cup match between the winners of the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show. New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts fact-along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England.
