COLEBROOK TO BE FEATURED IN NEW "OUR HOMETOWN" PROGRAM

NHPTV Series Explores Culture, Commerce, History and People of New Hampshire's Towns and Cities(DURHAM, May 27, 2015) — The production team from New Hampshire Public Television will be in Colebrook Monday, June 15th to gather stories and interview individuals for its new program, OUR HOMETOWN. Producers will then return to Colebrook in July to video-record residents as they tell their stories for the television program. The OUR HOMETOWN series premiered in March with a focus on Peterborough. The series explores the vibrant culture, commerce, history and people of New Hampshire's 221 towns and 13 cities, and Colebrook was selected to be the second location featured. Produced in partnership with a community, each OUR HOMETOWN program engages residents in telling their stories, which are then video-recorded and edited into a 30-minute television program which is broadcast on NHPTV, and available online with additional interviews at www.nhptv.org/ourhometown. The series is hosted by New Hampshire native, author and storyteller Rebecca Rule. The Colebrook OUR HOMETOWN Storytelling Workshop will take place Monday, June 15 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tillotson Center in Colebrook. Residents of the town – current and former – are invited to attend and learn more about the program, how to tell a story for television, and how to participate. "Think of collecting all of your hometown's best stories and sharing them with everyone," explained Dawn DeAngelis, NHPTV Chief Content Officer, about the television series. "That's what the OUR HOMETOWN series is about. We are offering Granite Staters a keepsake that’s an in-depth and personal look at the communities that make New Hampshire our home."Learn more: www.nhptv.org/ourhometown or e-mail hometown@nhptv.org .
