(DURHAM, February 14, 2015 ) — On Saturday's game of smarts, Bow High School prevailed over Portsmouth Christian Academy with a score of 245 to 210. Bow managed to get an early lead, but was closely tailed by Portsmouth Christian, only to pull it off in the final round.The Bow Falcons were represented by captain Jack Sheffer, Anna Morrison, Sean Fraser, and Conner Lorenz, and were coached by Michelle Hlavaz. The Portsmouth Christian Eagles were represented by captain Connor Foley, Nate Foster, Vibhav Jha, and Riley Sipp, and were coached by Donna Capern and Dr. Raymond Gamble. "We played a difficult opponent," said Bow's coach Michelle Hlavaz. "They were a strong team and we enjoyed the match. And we'll continue to practice and prepare for the next round of GSC."Bow High School now advances
second round of GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The popular quiz contest began the season with
16 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SUPERCHALLENGE title. Also, for a third year, there will be a Granite State vs. Bay State Governor's Cup match between the winners of the GRANITE STATE SUPERCHALLENGE and the WGBH Boston High School Quiz Show. New Hampshire's top high school academic teams demonstrate remarkable teamwork, quick thinking and smarts as they play GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE. The game emphasizes quick recall of math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts facts – along with questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and New England. Host Jim Jeannotte poses the Challenge questions; co-host Lori Warriner gets the behind-the-scenes story from each team. Watch GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE Saturdays at 6 PM on NHPTV PRIME, with multiple
