Windows to the Wild & Counting On Birds Win Five

(DURHAM, October 20, 2014) — COUNTING ON BIRDS won first in News Documentary at the recent 2014 New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters’ Granite Mike Awards, and WINDOWS TO THE WILD won four awards. New Hampshire Public Television also received a first for Best Station Promotion and the merit award for Station of the Year. COUNTING ON BIRDS is the fourth in a series of award-winning specials (BIRD TALES, SAVING SONGBIRDS, JOURNEY OF THE BROAD-WINGED HAWK) produced by NHPTV that explore and celebrate New England’s migratory birds. The program originally aired last October and is available online. The series has received Telly and Boston/New England Emmy awards, and has been seen across the country. Waternomee in Woodstock, NH. Will Lange hikes to the WWII site with an archeologist.• Merit: Feature Story Eye on the Outdoors - Will Lange hikes Cardigan Mountain with Scott Ellis to learn how Scott uses technology to relive his experiences in nature.And, NHPTV won Best Station Promotion for HOME – KATIE LESSARD, which features a nine-year-old NH girl who asked for donations to NHPTV in lieu of birthday presents.
