Inter-Lakes High School Advances to Finals of GSC

(Durham, April 27, 2005) – Inter-Lakes High School defeated Portsmouth Christian Academy by a score of 295 to 285 Monday night in the first semifinal match-up of Granite State Challenge on New Hampshire Public Television. Granite State Challenge airs on NHPTV Mondays at 7:30 p.m. and repeats Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.In the most exciting buzzer-beater match of the season, the Inter-Lakes team, comprised of seniors Peter Fallon, Peter Houhoulis, Mike Misiewicz and Kelsey Read, squeaked out a win over the Portsmouth Christian team comprised of senior Becky Wasson and juniors Kevin Wilson, Josh Hilton and Erik Townsend. The Inter-Lakes team advances to the GSC SuperChallenge, where it will compete against the winner of the Con-Val vs. Alvirne match.Thirty-two Granite State high school teams began battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title in September. The GSC SuperChallenge is scheduled for Thurs., May 26 @ 8 p.m.
