NH HEALTH CARE – IS THERE GOOD NEWS? FILM SCREENING & DISCUSSION EVENT TO BE HELD 11/15 IN DURHAM

(DURHAM, November 6, 2012) – Everyone needs some form of health care, but not everyone has the means to access it or pay for it. On November 15th at 1 p.m., New Hampshire Public Television and the Endowment for Health will present a free screening and discussion about health care affordability, accessibility and quality in New Hampshire. The event will be held at the NHPTV Broadcast Center in Durham, and is the last of six such events held around the Granite State this fall. The hour-long PBS documentary film U.S. HEALTH CARE: THE GOOD NEWS will be shown, followed by a panel and audience discussion based on the question, “NH Health Care – Is There Good News?”. Panelists at this event include Dr.  Philip Boulter, Medical Director, Tufts Health Care; Janet Atkins, Executive Director, Goodwin Community Health; Jeffrey Hughes, VP Strategic Planning, Wentworth- Douglass Hospital; and Patricia Ramsey, Owner, Edgewood Centre, Portsmouth, NH.  Jeanne Ryer, Director of the NH Citizens Health Initiative, will moderate. By shedding light on health care innovations and opportunities in our own state, attendees will be able to compare what is happening across the country and in New Hampshire to make health care more affordable and accessible while ensuring good health outcomes. This free event, funded by the Endowment for Health, is open to the public. It is produced in partnership with the NH Citizens Health Initiative. Register to attend at nhptv.org/health.
