NHPTV NAMED NHAB STATION OF THE YEAR

ALSO RECEIVES FOUR NHAB GRANITE MIKE AWARDS

(DURHAM, October 19, 2012) — New Hampshire Public Television was named 2012 Station of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters, and received two first place and one merit awards during the annual NHAB Granite Mike Awards ceremony in Manchester on October 18th. Also, Jim Jeannotte, the long-time host of NHPTV’s GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE and “The Voice” of UNH sports, was named Broadcaster of the Year. NHPTV received the first place News Documentary award for its program, SAVING SONGBIRDS, a WINDOWS TO THE WILD special. In the program, host Willem Lange travels from New England to Costa Rica and Jamaica to meet colorful and melodic migratory birds and the people who are dedicated to saving them. In 2013, Granite State Challenge will begin its 29th season on New Hampshire Public Television. Established in 1954, the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters (NHAB) is the only voluntary, statewide trade organization serving the Granite State's over-the-air radio and television stations.
