Purchasing a Car Is Focus of "Outlook on Money" Series

(DURHAM, February 23, 2006) — Shopping for a car usually takes a big investment of time and money. But it doesn’t have to drive you crazy! Outlook on Money, airing on New Hampshire Public Television’s award-winning nightly newsmagazine NH OUTLOOK Monday, February 27th @ 7:30 p.m., takes a look at the nuts and bolts of car buying. Whether you’re still researching or ready to buy, we’ll help you minimize the hassle by providing tips on using web resources, negotiating the best deal, and efficiently shopping around.We’ll follow a Strafford music teacher as she shops and bargains for a new vehicle. NH OUTLOOK host Beth Carroll also interviews a Dover woman who consulted with Bonnie CLAC, a non-profit organization that acts as an advocate for car buyers, when she needed assistance in securing a car loan.Outlook on Money is a unique series designed to help people of all ages and income levels establish and maintain financial security. Whether it's learning to live on a budget, teaching children to spend and save wisely, planning for college and retirement, or starting your own business, Outlook on Money offers advice from experts around the state. These financial literacy segments are available for online viewing at https://nhpbs.org/outlook/money.asp. Beyond the 12 stories that are part of the series, Outlook on Money will be made available to schools, libraries, and community groups. Content for the series was contributed by 20 economic assistance and guidance organizations in the state, among them NH Jump$tart Coalition, Fannie CLAC and UNH Cooperative Extension.The special project was launched through the assistance of a $50,000 grant from Citizens Bank Foundation. The Citizens Bank Foundation is the principal charitable contributions vehicle of Citizens Bank New Hampshire.
