TUCK'S GIFT PREMIERES 11/21 on NHPTV

Documentary Highlights Temple of NH History

(DURHAM, November 10, 2011) - It’s a tale about art, architecture, social ambition, public service, and achieving a goal thought to be unattainable. Transatlanticvoyages, labor discord, disputes among the principals, a near-bankruptcy, and a death marked the construction process of TUCK'S GIFT.Set against the backdrop of the extraordinary generosity of Edward Tuck, artistic and architectural genius, and project managers who were relentless in ensuring the building opened 100 years ago, the story of the New Hampshire Historical Society’s Tuck Library is one of New Hampshire’s most rich and theatrical tales.Accompanied by extensive archival photos and material, producer Richard Ager talks with filmmaker Dayton Duncan, Dartmouth history professor Jere Daniell, and former U.S. Supreme Court Justice David Souter about the role of history in our lives. Airs November 21 & 28 at 9 p.m. on NHPTV.
