NHPTV WINS TWO BOSTON/NEW ENGLAND EMMY® AWARDS

(DURHAM, June 4, 2012) — New Hampshire Public Television recently received Boston/New England Emmy® Awards for outstanding environmental program and outstanding public service campaign. SAVING SONGBIRDS, a WINDOWS TO THE WILD special, won for outstanding environmental program (Phil Vaughn, producer/editor; Steve Giordani, videographer; Schuyler Scribner, graphics). The NHPTV COUNTS campaign received an Emmy for outstanding public service campaign announcement (Carla Gordon Russell, producer/editor; Schuyler Scribner, graphics). Hosted by Willem Lange, SAVING SONGBIRDS travels from New England to Costa Rica and Jamaica to meet colorful and melodic migratory birds and the people who are dedicated to saving them. The NHPTV COUNTS campaign was created to advise viewers about funding issues.NHPTV also was nominated in three other categories for Boston/New England Emmy® Awards: - Steve Giordani for outstanding photographer for SAVING SONGBIRDS, a WINDOWS TO THE WILD special; - Willem Lange for outstanding program host for WINDOWS TO THE WILD; and- Schuyler Scribner for outstanding graphic arts for TUCK’S GIFT.The award winners were announced at the 35th Boston/New England Emmy® Awards Ceremony on June 2nd in Boston.The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is the premier and most recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of excellence in television. The Academy awards the EMMY®, the most prestigious, peer-judged honor in television for outstanding creative achievement.
