A NEW YEAR’S HIKING TRADITION ON MT. MOOSILAUKE

– AIRS APRIL 26th ON NHPTV’s “WINDOWS TO THE WILD” PROGRAM –(DURHAM, April 20, 2012) – Connecticut Valley hikers have a tradition of welcoming the New Year by climbing to the top of Mt. Moosilauke on January 1st – regardless of the conditions. Join Willem Lange as he makes the icy trek on the next WINDOWS TO THE WILD, airing Thursday, April 26th at 8:30 p.m. on New Hampshire Public Television. Willem joins forces with a group of hikers who have made the New Year’s Day hike for more than 12 years. They meet familiar faces along the way on “New Year’s Moosilauke Hike,” the latest episode in the 7th season of WINDOWS TO THE WILD. As they begin the ascent of the 4,802 ft. Mt. Moosilauke, anticipating the beautiful views above the clouds at the summit of the 10th highest mountain in New Hampshire, they realize the trails are more slick than usual.
