(DURHAM, October 26, 2005) — New Hampshire Public Television received four first place and three merit awards during the recent New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters (NHAB) annual Golden Mike Awards ceremony in Concord. NH Outlook, NHPTV’s nightly newsmagazine, took home the first place award for Public Affairs Show for its program “Living with Disabilities” (Beth Carroll, host; Julie Donnelly, reporter; Kim Piela, line producer; Rebecca Reilly, editor; Jonathon Millman, videographer; Jason Grant, videographer; Dawn DeAngelis, executive producer). Wildlife Journal won best Sports Feature Story for its “Extreme Duckers” segment on winter waterfowl hunting by “sneak boat” on Great Bay (Phil Vaughn, producer; Steve Giordani, videographer; Marc Diessner, executive producer).Wildlife Journal also won best Feature Story for “Living with Black Flies,” about banishing black flies from The Balsams (Chip Neal, producer; Jonathon Millman, videographer; Marc Diessner, executive producer).An on-air promotion celebrating NHPTV’s 45th anniversary won the first place Station Promotion award (Carla Gordon Russell, producer).NHPTV received the merit award for Station of the Year. NH Outlook took home the merit award for Public Affairs Show for “Congo Family Reunion,” about the effort to reunite a Congolese family (Beth Carroll, host; Kim Piela, line producer; Rebecca Reilly, director/editor; Todd Ziemek, videographer; Jonathon Millman, videographer; Dawn DeAngelis, executive producer).Additionally, NH Outlook won a merit award for Talk Show for its “Friday Journalists Roundtable,” a weekly discussion among Granite State journalists hosted by Beth Carroll (Beth Carroll, host; Kim Piela, line producer; Rebecca Reilly, director; Dawn DeAngelis, executive producer).Established in 1954, the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters is a statewide trade organization serving 98 percent of the Granite State's over-the-air radio and television stations.NH Outlook, NHPTV’s award-winning nightly newsmagazine, is dedicated to statewide coverage of the people, places and politics that make the Granite State special.
