PASSPORT Craft Beer & Culinary World Tour Event 9/24

Beer & Food Pairing Evening at Strawbery Banke Museum

(PORTSMOUTH, NH, July 27, 2011) – The best in regional craft beer and local culinary creations will be on tap September 24th at beautiful Strawbery Banke Museum. The third annual PASSPORT Craft Beer & Culinary World Tour evening, to benefit New Hampshire Public Television and Strawbery Banke Museum, offers guests a savory tour of over 20 beer styles masterfully paired with appetizers from area restaurants and regional food purveyors. Guests stroll the museum’s grounds on the Piscataqua to sample and learn about the region’s leading craft beer styles and the cuisines they complement. The museum’s cooper will be making a beer barrel on site, and guests will taste Moat Mountain beer poured from one of his hand-made barrels.Participating PASSPORT breweries to date include: Smuttynose Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing Company, Moat Mountain Brewing Company, Samuel Adams, Throwback Brewery, Tuckerman Brewing Company and White Birch Brewing. Participating PASSPORT restaurants and food purveyors include: Black Trumpet, Blue Mermaid Island Grill, Cabot Cheese, Cava, The Common Man, Flavor Concepts, Four Restaurant, Jumpin' Jay's Fish Café, The Kitchen Deli & Catering, Lindt Chocolates, Mombo, Pete & Gerry’s Organic Eggs, Portsmouth Brewery, RiRa, The Rosa, Street, Wentworth by the Sea, White Apron Catering, and more. Chef Evan Hennessey of Flavor Concepts is overseeing the food and beer pairings.Tickets for PASSPORT (6:30 – 9 p.m.) are on sale for $50 and include a signature PASSPORT beer glass. Tickets for the PASSPORT DIPLOMAT reception (5:30 – 6:30 p.m.) and the main event are $85. This exclusive VIP tasting hour in the Goodwin Garden features special pairings, led by head brewers and chefs, of Smuttynose aged vintage beers paired with Mombo's internationally inspired cuisine. Designated driver tickets are available.
