How to Own and Operate a Small Business in New Hampshire

(DURHAM, October 17, 2005) —Do you dream of one day owning your own business or turning your favorite hobby into a paying profession? Find out what it takes to launch and maintain a successful small business on the next segment of New Hampshire Public Television’s Outlook on Money, airing on NHPTV’s award-winning nightly program, NH Outlook, Monday, October 24th @ 7:30 p.m. From designing a business plan to the value of networking, this nuts-and-bolts program will uncover the challenges of growing and sustaining a business in the Granite State and provide practical tips and strategies from fellow New Hampshire entrepreneurs.Special guests on the program will include Warren Daniel, Seacoast Regional Manager of the University of New Hampshire Small Business Development Center, and Jennifer Murphy, Southeast Regional Manager of MicroCredit-NH. Outlook on Money is a unique series designed to help people of all ages and income levels establish and maintain financial security. Whether it's learning to live on a budget, teaching children to spend and save wisely, planning for college and retirement, or starting your own business, “Outlook on Money” offers advice from experts around the state. These financial literacy segments are available for online viewing at https://nhpbs.org/outlook/money.asp. Beyond the 12 stories that will be broadcast in 2005-2006, “Outlook on Money” will be made available to schools, libraries, and community groups. Content for the series was contributed by 20 economic assistance and guidance organizations in the state, among them NH Jump$tart Coalition, Fannie CLAC and UNH Cooperative Extension.The special project was launched through the assistance of a $50,000 grant from Citizens Bank Foundation. The Citizens Bank Foundation is the principal charitable contributions vehicle of Citizens Bank New Hampshire.
