Con-Val Regional High School Advances to Granite State SuperChallenge

(DURHAM, April 7, 2011) – The first Granite State Challenge semi-final match produced plenty of edge-of-your-seat excitement last night! Con-Val Regional High School trailed Portsmouth Christian Academy for the entire match, but then staged a spectacular comeback in the final minutes of the game to defeat PCA 340 to 300, securing a spot in the April 20th SuperChallenge. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online.The triumphant Con-Val Cougars included seniors Alice Hale, Ethan Beihl, Karissa Vincent, Mara Zrzavy, and junior Will Welch. They were coached by Molly Flower Eppig. Their opponents, the Portsmouth Christian Eagles, included seniors Eric Baker, Nathan Hafner, Katii Capern, and juniors Benjamin Leavitt, Sam Haverly and Zachary Rubeor. They were coached by Donna Capern and Raymond Gamble.Con-Val Regional High School will face the winner of next week's match in the SuperChallenge on April 20th at 6 p.m.TUNE IN WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13 @ 6 p.m. NASHUA HIGH SCHOOL SOUTH vs. BISHOP BRADY HIGH SCHOOLTune in each Wednesday night @ 6 p.m. and follow your favorite teams' progress. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April.
