NHPTV Receives Literacy Grant

( DURHAM, January 9, 2006) — As a result of new grant funding, more than 15,000 children across New Hampshire—many from low-income families or rural areas—will receive free books, parents will have an opportunity to attend free workshops on parenting skills, and families will enjoy free-of-charge special events—all designed to improve the literacy skills of the Granite State's children. New Hampshire Public Television (NHPTV) has been awarded a Ready to Lead in Literacy grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to help support its Ready To Learn program. The grant provides $75,000 over three years.
