Nashua HS South Advances to Quarterfinals of Granite State Challenge

(DURHAM, February 17, 2011) – The competition is heating up as we approach the end of round two of Granite State Challenge. In last night's match, Nashua High School South beat Gorham Middle High School 355 to 230, securing Nashua a spot in the quarterfinals. Catch Granite State Challenge Wednesdays at 6 p.m. and again Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. on New Hampshire Public Television, and always online.The winning Nashua South Purple Panthers included seniors Alden LeClair, Mitchell Gustin, Kinjal Shah, William Gosse, IV, and juniors Erin Barry and Alicia Javier. They were coached by Neil Claffey and Catherine E. Poulin. Their opponents, the Gorham Huskies, included senior Chris Turgeon, juniors Dan Temme, Ryan Mayers, Kyle Fortin, and sophomores Maggie Currier and Tyler Binette. They were coached by Peter Gagnon.Nashua High School South will face Bedford High School in the quarterfinals on March 23rd at 6 p.m. TUNE IN WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 23 @ 6 p.m. ST. The popular quiz contest begins with 32 Granite State high school teams battling toward the coveted SuperChallenge title. There are four single-elimination rounds leading to the final contest in April.
