Celebrating 28 Years of Quizzical Competition!

(DURHAM, September 21, 2010) — From head-to-head battles from inter-city rivals Nashua High North and Nashua High South to cross town face-offs between Bedford and Goffstown – it will take a winning combination of knowledge, teamwork, grace under pressure, and a quick buzzer reflex to claim the GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE title. Match your smarts with 32 teams during the new, 28th season of New Hampshire Public Television’s GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE, premiering Wednesday, September 22 @ 6 p.m. This year, in addition to taking the Challenge during the games, try your hand at being a contestant by taking the “Granite State Challenge Quiz” online! On Monday mornings, quizzes focused on different themes will be posted for elementary, middle, and high school students (and adults!).GRANITE STATE CHALLENGE brings New Hampshire’s top high school academic teams head-to-head in lively competition. The game emphasizes quick recall of factual material in all major disciplines – math, science, social studies, language arts and fine arts – along with a mix of questions about current events, entertainment, sports, and regional topics. This season teams will find more questions about New Hampshire and New England. Host Jim Jeannotte asks the Challenge questions to the teams; Lori Warriner gets the behind-the-scenes scoop by interviewing team members prior to the game.
