Several business owners in Hardwick, VT, are working together to build a farm-to-table network, and their efforts are being looked at as a model for other communities nationwide. VPT correspondent Kristin Carlson reports on how the local food movement is helping grow new businesses and at the same time rebuilding the region's rural economy. Planning for long-term care. The options for long-term care vary according to your needs, budget and community, and range from staying in your home with community support to assisted-living residences to nursing homes. Producer Phil Vaughn of NHPTV interviews an expert with experience in sorting through the sometimes difficult choices.Work it UP Helps Unemployed Business Professionals. Work it UP helps put unemployed people back to work. The Maine-based organization collects resumes from out-of-work engineers, human resource experts, marketing directors, project managers and others, and deploys them in small teams to businesses that can use their expertise. While they are not paid for their work, they gain experience for their resumes, new relationships as well as new skills. Producer Jennifer Rooks of MPBN reports on how the organization got started and what motivates it to help unemployed professionals.Investing during challenging economic times.
