37th NHPTV Auction Begins Friday, May 7th at 6 p.m.

10-Night Event Raises Funds for NHPTV’s Programs and Services

(DURHAM, May 4, 2010) – Get your bidder number ready! The 37th Annual New Hampshire Public Television Spring Auction begins Friday, May 7th at 6 p.m., and continues live nightly through Sunday, May 16th! Over the years, the Spring Auction has promoted thousands of small and large regional businesses, local artists, restaurants, vacation spots, and recreational opportunities in this 10-day event that connects NHPTV with generous community supporters. Each night features special guest auctioneers such as U.S. Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, NH Speaker of the House Terie Norelli, WMUR meteorologist Josh Judge, Granite State Challenge host Jim Jeannotte, Roadside Stories host Bob Wilson, and WCSH 6 Portland News Center anchorman Pat Callaghan. Be sure to watch for your favorite radio personalities, too! Auction Director Trish Ballantyne hopes to raise more than $450,000 this year to help support NHPTV’s quality programs and services. “This is a one-of-a-kind community event that brings together more than 1,000 dedicated volunteers, thousands of generous donors and enthusiastic bidders and dozens of valued local sponsors. They all play a critical role in helping us raise money to sustain your favorite NHPTV programs and we are extremely grateful for their support.
