Manchester Central to Face Hanover in SuperChallenge
(DURHAM, April 15, 2010) – Manchester Central High School was victorious on Wednesday's Granite State Challenge, defeating Londonderry High School by a score of 270 to 215. The win secured Manchester Central High School the coveted final spot in the Granite State SuperChallenge. They will face off against Hanover High School on next week's season finale airing at a special time, Wednesday, April 21 at 5:30 p.m. The match will air again Thursday, April 22 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 24 at 8:30 a.m. The conquering Manchester Little Green included seniors Ben Stergiou, Nihco Gallo, David Neider, Nick Ambrogi, Andrew Lavoie and junior Olivia Papp. They were coached by Sean Russell and Mike Hennessy. Their opponents, the Londonderry Lancers, included seniors Michael Darcy, Mark Cwalinski, Jessica Fang, Stephen Bowen and alternates Wesley Axtell and Stephen Peters. They were coached by James Choquette.Hanover High School is a past Granite State SuperChallenge winner, taking the title in 1991 and 2003. This will be Manchester Central High School's first appearance in the SuperChallenge.
