With the government shutdown continuing, the federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) has been suspended for the month of November. According to the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute, "as many as 76,000 New Hampshire residents likely faced disruptions to critical food assistance on November 1" (Williams). SNAP and WIC are vital to many Granite Staters, and the shutdown has impacted many.
In response to these impacts, Governor Ayotte sent out a press release on November 3rd, outlining how the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will be joining the New Hampshire Food Bank to create several mobile food pantries and food pick-up locations for those enrolled in SNAP. These mobile food pantries will begin on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, and will require SNAP recipents to confirm their enrollment through showing their EBT card. A list of these locations from the DHHS's website can be found here.
The entirety of Governor Ayotte's Press Release can be found here.
