Chaeropodidae
There is only one species in this family, the pig-footed bandicoot and it is now extinct. It lived in Western Australia, through South Australia and the southern part of the Northern Territory. The last species was collected in 1901. It lived in semi-arid and arid areas. It was pale orange with long pointed ears and a long, pointed nose. It was nocturnal, it spent the day resting in a grassy nest. It was an omnivore.
